Carina Erdmann

Carina Erdmann works on the intersection of game design, performance and philosophy. She researches role play and collective (un)worlding as critical inquiry and social speculation. Entering through the (re)framing of a game, her practice develops collaborative game design as research methods that generates knowledge at the meeting point of the abstract and the concrete. Through the creation and negotiation of a shared game space it lets players (de)construct tacit rules, rehearse inadaptation to a given framework and enact alternative agencies within adaptive game architectures. Her research has unfolded within the PHD project at LUCA School of Arts; on 0ct0p0s.net, a platform for Prefigurative Play and at the project space ‘au JUS’.
