COORDINATES FOR BEING TOGETHER

Welcome!

All together we aim to make this space the most comfortable and safe we can. There is not a single way to do this neither a unique experience valid for everyone.

We ask you to respect other people, as well as their pronouns - and how they choose to expose or not to expose themselves.

In this space it is possible, but not mandatory, to enter in the sauna in ways that reflect each other's needs: dressing or undressing up, participating or not to the proposed activities.

Always asking for consent is the basis for holding space together.

No tolerance is allowed towards attitudes of racism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, ableism, classism and any other form of violence.

Every opening will be guided by someone from the organisation. Please feel free to highlight situations that do not respect your limits, your state of mind and your well-being so that a joint solution can be found.

It is very important for us to build a dimension of sharing and dialogue between participants, organisers and hosts in order to work towards a safer space for everyone.

“We’re Still Here” (2024) by Gloriosa Neto (she/her), film screening

In a world where access to hormone therapy is denied in many countries, a group of young trans and queer individuals gathers in France. Together, they learn to inject hormones while confronting the legal and social barriers that hinder their identities. Directed by Gloriosa Neto, a trans Brazilian filmmaker, this documentary highlights the urgent need for safe spaces and community support, serving as a powerful call to action for resilience and visibility.

Imagery of Waste and the Other(s) is a collaborative film about evolution, race and gender through our perception and dis/identification with waste. Film footage, sound recordings and paintings from personal archives are combined to form a collective imagery.

The film invites us to question our very relationship with waste, based not only on its visual and physical nature, but also on its emotional, historical and ideological dimensions. How our idea of progress, purity and toxicity has been historically and still is today linked to the ‘other’ classified outside social norms and rejected. The film challenges us to recognise and refuse this dehumanising wastage. The Imagery of Waste and the Other(s) calls for a profound consideration of our inextricably linked collective struggles for collective liberation.

The visual, textual and sound elements featured in the film are all contributions from participants in the ‘Imagery of waste and others’ workshop, held during the 11th edition of Elsewhere and Otherwise at PAF.

Credits: workshop facilitation and final editing by Zizu, words by Izo, narration by Blue, camera by Pearl, Sandra, Elia-Rosa, Garen, Serafine, Edie, cam-corder videos and paintings by Maansi Jain.
